Organization of the NANDA International nursing diagnoses has evolved from an alphabetical listing in the mid-1980s to a conceptual system that guide the classification of nursing diagnoses in a taxonomy. The recent
history and the domains, classes, diagnostic concepts, and nursing diagnoses approved in 2000 as Taxonomy II are further discussed in NANDA Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions and Classification 2001-2002.
The multiaxial structure of the taxonomy is discussed and nomenclature and coding conversion tables are included to assist in the transition from Taxonomy I to Taxonomy II.Taxonomy II
in its entirety is now available in the 2003-2004 edition of NANDA Diagnoses: Definitions and Classification.
The NANDA International taxonomy is available in: Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English (US and British), French, German, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese and Spanish.
