NLINKS is one response to strengthening the linkage among the nursing knowledge and informatics community. A project conceived at the April 2000 NANDA Conference, the project addresses the growing need for an
on-line center of communications for linking NANDA International with nursing diagnosis organizations in other countries, university research groups, and individuals who want to network for research, clinical, or
educational purposes. An important goal of the project is to strengthen existing relationships and advance future collaborative efforts with the Center for Nursing Classification (NIC/NOC) and the Nursing
Diagnosis Extension and Classification (NDEC) research teams. Through its Research Committee, NANDA International is taking a leadership role in linking taxonomy with current research and adopt a proactive position
in supporting the integration of theory and research. At its best, NLINKS has the potential to unify the nursing profession's best minds and efforts toward the universal application of nursing language
thoughout international health care system.
