What a wonderful event! Participants from over 20 countries shared in our 3-day event, officially opening The Marjory Gordon, Ph.D., R.N., FAAN Program for Clinical Reasoning and Knowledge Development at Boston College, and sharing research, clinical and educational experiences, as we discussed the importance of knowledge development, clinically useable terminology to describe nursing judgments, and much more. Juried papers discussed a variety of topics, from clinical validation of nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions to projects designed to implement the use of nursing terminology within clinical environments. Invited speakers shared research and perspectives on what data is needed to develop a standardized nursing assessment, the importance of international research collaboration to validate diagnoses across culture and setting, and successful implementation projects for NANDA-I nursing diagnoses at regional and national levels.
