Two Grand Prizes
Each of two winners will be awarded a Conference Scholarship of up to $1,000 (USD), to be applied toward conference fee, lodging and travel expenses associated with attendance at the 2012 NANDA-I Biennial Conference, Houston, TX, May 23-26, 2012. One of the two winners will be selected from submissions from the United States.

Topic
Use the standardized nursing language of NANDA International (NANDA-I) to address external standards of care, such as the Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals,  the Institute of Healthcare Improvement's Strategic Initiative's strategic goals, QSEN's competencies, the Institute of Medicine’s core competencies, etc. (Possible focus may be safety, such as suicide prevention, communication and safety, safe patient hand-off, etc) Choose an area of care about which you are passionate!
Article Requirements
Following the close of the contest, the winning articles will be submitted to the International Journal of Nursing Knowledge (the official journal of NANDA International) for possible publication.  Therefore, the Author’s Guidelines must be followed for contest consideration. The student must be the sole author of the submitted article. Articles must be submitted in English for consideration.
Article Judging
Key judging criteria are article originality and format. Panel of judges includes international
representation of nursing faculty, nurses in various practice areas and nursing book contributors.
Eligibility
•Nursing student enrolled in ADN, BSN or MSN program.  
•Student status verification required with article submission. Download sample verification letter.
•Student must be the sole author of the submitted article.
•Articles must be submitted in English for consideration.
•Deadline for submission February 29, 2012.
•Minimum of 5 scholarly references published after 2008.
•All contest entrants must read and agree to the Contest Terms and Conditions
